I wonder if you might consider education reform as a topic. It is my humble and biased opinion that education reform is the fundamental key to real societal reform. Public education is, unbelievably, still mired in industrial-age models, and it is underserving children born in the techno-knowledge age. As a communicator in charter school authorizing, I am challenged to shift the paradigm for parents who want the new models but don’t get that their proactive participation is needed in the process, and that they are responsible for their part (however ill-equipped they think they are) in their childrens’success, and ultimately the success of the schools. Just throwing it out there.

Interesting idea, thanks. We’re working on media literacy and media education as a discussion area. It certainly seems that as media has become interwoven into the culture there needs to be a more organized conversation in public schools everywhere about how media works, who uses it, and why they use it.
