Barbara Kahn
Dean, School of Business Administration, University of Miami

Barbara E. Kahn became dean of the University of Miami School of Business Administration in August 2007. She was previously the Dorothy Silberberg Professor of Marketing and vice dean and director of the Undergraduate Division at The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. She was also a senior fellow of the Leonard Davis Institute and a faculty member of the Graduate Group in the Psychology Department. A noted scholar on consumer choice, variety seeking, and brand loyalty, her research provides marketing managers with a better understanding of consumer decision-making. Top academic journals have published her work and she co-authored the book Grocery Revolution: The New Focus on the Consumer, which chronicled the dramatically changing supermarket industry and outlined consumer choices. Her research has been funded by the National Science Foundation and the Marketing Science Institute. Among her many accolades, Kahn was elected president of the Association of Consumer Research, president of the Journal of Consumer Research Policy Board, and was selected as a Marketing Science Institute trustee. Kahn received her Ph.D. and M.B.A. from Columbia University and her B.A. from the University of Rochester.
